Bathroom Backsplash Mania – Design Ideas To Inspire You

The backsplash is usually something we plan for the kitchen, often overlooking the fact that the bathroom needs one too. But is a bathroom backsplash any different than a kitchen backsplash? Well, yes and no. In a lot of ways, the two types are very similar and the differences are mostly related to the overall look and the way in which the backsplash interacts with the rest of the design elements. That being said, let’s review a few of the options. There are several important details to consider when selecting a type of backsplash for the bathroom: the material from which it’s made, the finish, color, texture, size and shape and all sorts of other elements.

The backsplash is an important element in the interior design of the bathroom even though it may not be among the first things you focus on when planning the space. A well-chosen backsplash can turn out to be the element that brings together the room, the feature that establishes harmony in the space, the detail which sets the right ambiance. The backsplash can also serve as a focal point for the bathroom. This can be achieved in various different ways. For instance, the backsplash can have an interesting color, one which contrasts with the surrounding decor, an interesting pattern or can be made of tiles with quirky shapes.

Think of your bathroom backsplash as more than just a protective panel for the wall. It’s also a decorative element and that means you can be really creative with its design. Even if you’re using plain old tiles you can still be ingenious by arranging them in a quirky pattern or by picking a cool pattern or even a whole bunch of different patterns, creating a unique mosaic. We hope you’ll be inspired by the examples we’ve selected and that they’ll help you come up with your own special bathroom backsplash design. Most of them include tiles and some are not even backsplashes per se but this just helps to show that creativity has no limits and that you should explore more than the usual options as well as try to come up with your own ideas.
