The end of our three-part series on holiday lounging comes to a close. In our first post, we looked at the dining room table and how it’s for more than just feasting. To “lounge” is to sit in a relaxed manner. Therefore, the table is for lounging with friends and family over good food and drink. Unruh provides the vessel to make it happen.
In our second post, we highlighted Disney Plus and how Unruh TV stands set the stage for online streaming. Our team works incredibly hard on a weekly basis, and looks forward to extended weekends for travel and adventure. But come wintertime, we all know curling up for a movie or TV show binging is not a terrible alternative. As long as you keep things in moderation, we recommend an Unruh TV stand and throwing some high-resolution on top.
Today, we’re back to the more traditional lounging: comfy seats and kicking your feet up on coffee tables. This form of lounging harkens a true “lounge” feel. As in the place you go to enjoy drinks or entertainment with friends. You can create a similar setting right in your home. (Think: living room). But is your living room a lounge to be desired? If you host regularly, consider stepping up your living room game with any of our Unruh coffee tables. Below are a few customer spaces and how they’ve utilized our furniture to create breath-taking lounge-like settings.
Kris’s House
With this blog post series, we began with the end in mind. In this case, Kris’s home is the perfect exclamation point to a series on quality lounging during the holidays. Located next to her Belmont Pedestal Base Table and Fairview Benches, the living room is a seamless transition for guests in her home. Do these images exude a holiday vibe or what?
Moving from dining room table to living room will keep her guests comfortable and ready to discuss the finer debates in life: like which holiday movie truly reigns supreme. When Kris and friends partake in such conversation, they’ll do so around our Carolina Coffee Table. This piece carries southern charm – warmth and elegance blended into one. Kris decided on a white finish for the base of her Carolina, and you, too, can choose from dozens of finishing options (in addition to size variations) to ensure your space is your own.
The Luongo House
“We love both of our pieces from Unruh! They are beautiful pieces of art. Not only is the furniture amazing, so is the customer service. Our designer, Kaitlin was so helpful in the process and I loved the email updates on the progress of the furniture!” -Kathy Luongo
Kathy went with the Kingston Dining Room Table which was the perfect choice for her classy dining room. But her coffee table has a bit of an edge to it. The Brookside Coffee Table is fully customizable to meet your needs. And Kathy went with a live edge to add a wonderful layer of texture to this staple living-room item. Coffee tables are not one-size-fits-all, which is often the downside of local furniture stores. To get a feel for the size and feel of a Brookside in your living room, use our online customization tool to adjust the dimensions to your liking.

Almost Meal Time!
We would love to discuss how a coffee table will transform your space at our first Unruh showroom visit. But first, remember what this week’s series was all about: lounging with others for the sake of community and gathering. We have an easy three-step process to transform your living room, but the rest is on you. Invite friends over this holiday season to converse, play and laugh. November and December go by fast, but come 2020 . . . Unruh will enter the shop more determined to make this next decade your best one yet.
It may seem like an overstatement, but dining tables, TV stands and coffee tables will go a long way in making the years ahead most enjoyable. And a trip to the furniture store, although abundant in options, isn’t always conducive to your specific space. It’s all about setting the stage for friends and family. Unruh can surely help the process. But make no mistake, it’s you that your friends will thank in the end.
Do you have holiday stories to share? In December, we’re hoping to gather some favorite holiday traditions – ideally centered on how Unruh furniture has enhanced your home for the holidays – to share with our customer base. Please reach out with your story! Email hello@unruhfurniture.com
